Virginia L. Saathoff, 105, of Muncie, IN, formerly of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, peacefully while in the company of family members at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Virginia was born in Rochester, IN, on July 29, 1918, a daughter of the late Nancy E. (Rawlins) and Carl H. Bransford. She was a 1926 graduate of Fairmount High School and the loving wife of the late Clifford D. Saathoff who she happily married on July 30, 1939 and sadly lost on April 6, 1986. Virginia was a proud 50 + year member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, IN, Sigma Phi Gamma, Research Club, American Legion Auxiliary Post 227, formerly attended Kaleb Kin at Grace Baptist Church, 3 Bridge Clubs, enjoyed quilting, reading, missing vowel puzzles, playing Euchre, and was a dedicated Indiana Pacers fan. Virginia is survived by her daughter Nancy L. Wray (husband Jim), sister Patricia J. Houdek, 2 grandchildren; Melinda Spillman (husband Kent), Jason Wray (wife Katie), 6 great grandchildren; Alyssa, Justin(wife Brianna), Brionna, Lilyan, Luke, Jace, 2 great great grandchildren; Coltyn, Breighton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Nancy and Carl Bransford, her husband Clifford D. Saathoff, 2 brothers; Richard and Robert Bransford, and 1 sister; Helen Kline. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Mt.Tabor United Methodist Church fellowship hall (Tabor Hall) in Dunkirk, IN. Funeral services will also be held in Tabor Hall on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11 AM with Pastor Randy Davis Officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. In lieu of flowers Virginia requested donations be made to Mt.Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
