 Stephen Douglas Pierson

 Stephen Douglas Pierson, 58, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, unexpectedly after a brief battle with lung cancer, while in the company of family members at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Steve was born in Portland, IN, on May 18, 1965, a son of Patty A. (Craw) Copeland and the late Charles D. Pierson. He was a 1983 graduate of Jay County High School and was formerly employed as a forklift operator for Red Gold in Geneva, IN. Steve was a hard working man who enjoyed fishing, watching the Chicago Cubs, wrestling, sports, playing baseball, bowling, listening to Rock n Roll, Country, spending time with family, and helping with the Frank Merry Park Annual Easter Egg Hunt. He is survived by his mother Patty Copeland, son Jackson R. Pierson, brother Todd Copeland (Ashley Surpas), aunt Deloris Dull, 2 nephews; Thomas and Josh Reagan, several cousins and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father Charles, and brother Chris Pierson. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 PM. Burial will be held privately on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the IU Health Ball Memorial Cancer Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
