Michael Eugene Jackson, 46, of Eaton, IN, passed away Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 after an unexpected medical emergency at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Michael was born in Muncie, IN, on October 24, 1977 a son of Debra Kaye (Hensley) Lehman and Gary Eugene Jackson. He was a 1996 graduate of Delta High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 14 years, which included extensive training and employment as a military diesel mechanic and proudly volunteering for the active duty honor guard detail for fallen soldiers. Mike was a member of the 618 Jeeps Club in Belleville, Ill, Just Jeepin in Muncie, IN, Union Chapel Church and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Lois Cardinals, being outdoors fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, grilling, cooking, card games, listening to country and classic rock music, watching and reminiscing with his brother about drag racing in their younger days. Known to many as "Big Country" this gentle giant with a kind soul, was always putting others first, checking on and concerned about his family, no matter what challenges he had of his own. Mike is survived by his wife Rachel Marie Oliver-Jackson, mother; Debra Kaye (Hensley) Lehman (husband Bob), father; Gary Eugene Jackson (Ellann Partin), brother; Andrew Wayne Jackson (Alison), 2 sons; Christopher Michael Jackson, Jacob Andrew Jackson both of Smithton, Ill, grandmother; Betty Hensley, 2 nieces; Annie Jackson, Alivia Jackson, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Darrell Hensley, Howard R. and Ada M. Jackson and uncle; Rick Hensley. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11-1 at the Albany Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Josh Arthur officiating. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Marion National Cemetery with military honors provided by local veterans honor guard and the United States Air Force. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
