Joyce C. Kendall, 76, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 peacefully while in the company of family members at The Waters of Dunkirk, in Dunkirk, IN. Joyce was born in Portland, IN, on February 14, 1947, a daughter of the late Ruth (McGlothen) and Howard Hamilton. She was formerly employed at Miller’s Merry Manor for 20 + years as a QMA. Joyce was a kind hearted, loving mother, “Mimi” to her grandchildren, and wife to the late Randolph Simpkins. She was a socialite who enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and making memories to be forever cherished with her family and friends. Joyce loved her dog Sammy,  2 step dancing, ice cream, Coke Zero, the color red, and listening to Ralph Stanley and BlueGrass music. She is survived by her daughter Donna Willoughby (Mark), 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Jeff, and her brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 4-6 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 6 PM with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be held privately at a later date in Jones Cemetery in Salt Lick, KY. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel.
