John D. Sutherland, 64, of Winchester, IN, formerly of Farmland, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 peacefully while in the company of family members at St. Vincent's Hospital in Winchester, IN. John was born on May 23, 1959, a son of the late Lucille Virginia (Moore) and Ira Millard Sutherland. He attended Winchester Community High School and was formerly employed as a die cast machinist and truck driver. John was a die hard Steelers fan, loved animals, camping and fishing trips to Basswood Lake in Minnesota with his son, telling jokes, watching Bigfoot and Ghost Hunter shows, playing cards, golf, softball, bowling and shooting pool. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Lesa Sutherland, sons; Jered and Zach Sutherland, daughter; Brandy Slusher (Chad), sister; Brenda Woolf (Jeff), 7 grandchildren; Brianna, Dalton, Nolan, Madison, Victoria, Aiden, Jaylee, 3 great grandchildren; Owen, Charlee, Kade, 2 sister in laws; Patsy Swartz, Connie Miranda, brother in law Ray Conley (Deanna), his furbabies; Sara and Chloe and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Wilmer Moore, Jerry Sutherland, James Davenport, 2 sisters; Bonnie Watkins, Becky Hurst, and 3 furbabies; Coco, Gizmo, and Sophia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 11-1 at MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Jeff Straley officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Randolph County Animal Shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel.
