 Jerry D. Ludwig, 81, of  Dunkirk, IN, passed away Thursday, January 19th, 2023 peacefully at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, KY. Jerry was born in Bluffton, IN, on October 15, 1941, a son of the late Lois P. (Farling) and Paul E. Ludwig. He was a 1959 graduate of Howe Military School, a 1960 graduate of Dunkirk High School and went on to further his education at Texas Christian University. Jerry was the loving husband of Barbara S. (Flynn) Ludwig who he happily married on September 15, 1977 and sadly lost on March 8, 2018. He was the Owner and Operator of Ludwig Grocery in Dunkirk, IN, until it's closing in 2005. Jerry was a member of the Dunkirk Elks Lodge #1776 and enjoyed golf, the Chicago Bears, country music, Fox channel, playing Keno and traveling with his beautiful wife Barbara. He is survived by 3 sons; Jeff McDaniel-Ludwig, Allen Ludwig and Derek Ludwig, 1 brother; Anthony Ludwig, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barb, 1 brother; Bill Ludwig and 1 sister; Leslie Garr. Friends are invited to call Saturday, February 4th, 2023 from 1-3 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Entombment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muncie Animal Shelter/ ARF. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Redkey Chapel.
