James K. McCoy, Jr.

James “Jim” Keith McCoy, Jr., age 57, went to his heavenly home peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 28, 2023. He was born on December 18, 1965 to James McCoy Sr. and Linda (Grosscup) McCoy in Zanesville, Ohio. 

James was a 1984 graduate of Winchester Community High School. He then went on to serve on the National Guard. One of James’ greatest joys was spending time out on the softball field alongside his daughters. He also enjoyed painting and riding his bike. 

James was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher; brother-in-law, Michael Dale; great niece, Jenna Dale; and his grandparents. 

Those left to mourn the loss of James are: his father, James McCoy Sr.; his mother, Linda McCoy; three daughters, Lindsey Chavez Garcia (Rover); Bailey McCoy, and Holly McCoy; one step-daughter, Taylor McClish-Bush (Russell); two sisters, Sharla Cook (Mark) and Darla Dale (Shane Smith); four nephews; and special friend, Edith Moore. James was blessed with six grandchildren: Addison, Carson, Alex, Lorenzo, Connor, and Dilan whom he loved very much. 

Private burial will be held in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester, IN. A celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Reid Health Hospice for taking wonderful care of James during his final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel.
