Farrel Lee Wells
Farrel Lee Wells, 75, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Monday, August 28th, 2023 peacefully while in the company of family members at his residence. Farrel was born in Muncie, IN on October 26, 1947, a son of the late Adelaide (Menard) and Victor F. Wells. He was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and formerly worked as a police officer, and dispatcher for the city of Dunkirk and spent over 20 years on the Dunkirk Fire Department. Farrel was the loving husband of Bonnie Jean (Pozsgai) Wells, who he happily married on February 2, 1972, but sadly lost on December 6, 2021. He was quite the jokester and enjoyed birdwatching, gunsmithing, fishing, muzzle loading, listening to country music, watching DIY shows, taking fishing trips to Canada and spending time with his 2 dogs Katie and Willow. Farrel was a member of the Masonic Lodge 298, Indiana Blacksmith Association and Dunkirk Elks Lodge. He is survived by 1 daughter; Patricia Willoughby (husband John), 1 son; Michael Wells (wife Jill), 1 brother; Timothy Wells, 1 sister; Deloris De Hart, 5 grandchildren; Brook Willoughby, Branden Willoughby (wife Brandie), Courtney Willoughby, Spencer Wells, Grant Wells, 6 great grandchildren; Lucas, Heath, Ava, Eathn, Kamryn, Maxwell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bonnie. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dunkirk Fire Department or Masonic Lodge 298 (PO Box 23 Redkey, IN 47373). Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries.
