Bernice Ann (Hufnagle) Herndon, 74, of Farmland, IN, joined her Lord and Savior in glory on Sunday, April 7, 2024 peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Bernice was born in Coldwater, MI, on March 14, 1950, a daughter of the late Barbara Jean (Southcott) and Floyd Henry Hufnagle. She was a 1968 graduate of Fremont High School, former Clerk Treasurer for the Town of Farmland, member of the Farmland Auxiliary, member and Treasurer of Open Arms House of Worship and the loving wife of the late Jerry Wayne Herndon who she happily married on January 27, 1968 and sadly lost on October 19, 2020. Together they shared 52 wonderful years and enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing trips, and Vores Compact Racing events. Bernice had a passion for genealogy, dancing, oldies music, taking wildlife photos, hosting family gatherings, tea parties, and collecting tea cups. She is survived by 2 daughters; Loretta Perry (Joe), Jackie Kirkpatrick (Paul), 1 sister; Jane Bauhof, 1 uncle; Clarence B. Southcott, 7 grandchildren; Kristen, Jerad, Jade, Colton, Michael, Hannah, Bethany and 8 great grandchildren; Cameron, Laramie, Stormi, Hope, Adalynn, Oliver, Allis, Everly and several nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, daughter; Christy Ann Herndon, and sister; Evelyn Gleason. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 11-1 at MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Brent Brumfield officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Farmland, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Trinity (PO Box 93 Farmland, IN. 47340) or Historic Farmland USA. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel.
